The Masai Mara national reserve is THE Kenya’s tourist attraction. For most travelers, the magic of western Kenya can be summed up in two words: Masai Mara. The first is the local tribe, the second the river that runs through the park.

Few places in the world can boast such a high concentration of animals, and the park’s savannas, teeming with gnu and zebra, are undoubtedly the region’s main attraction.

Why go? The Mara river that runs through the park and the extraordinary variety of animals that inhabit it, the undulating grasslands of the Masai Mara spanning 1510 sq. km. are Africa’s most famous place to go on safari.
When to visit? Magnificent any time of year the Masai Mara reach its peak during the annual gnu and zebra migration in July and August, when more than a million of these animals leave the Serengeti and head north in search of greener pastures, returning south in October.
Usuful info: The Masai Mara is very famous so it can get very crowded and expensive during migration.
The entrance fee cost us USD 500 for 2 days (you have to leave the park at 6 pm latest).
