The Amboseli is one of Kenya’s most famous national parks, and it’s not hard to see why. Its main attraction is the hundreds of elephants silhouetted against the striking backdrop of Kilimanjaro (5,895 m)
Africa’s highest peak marks the southern boundary of the park, and it’s imposing often hidden by clouds for much of the day. We were not lucky enough to spot it.

Amboseli National Park – traveling with kids
The Amboseli is located in the heart of masai territory and offers the opportunity to encounter elephants up close. The other parks in the region require more patience to spot animals, an experience that may be better appreciated by slightly older children.
Our 8 and 4 years old daughters were anyway so lucky to spot: giraffes, elephants, hyena, zebras as well as colorful birds.
